Course Outline

Finance and Accounting for Non-Finance Executives teaches how financial data is generated and reported, as well as how it is used for decision making, analysis, and valuation. It teaches the core concepts of finance and accounting in a straightforward and easy-to-understand manner, including terminology and principles, financial statements, distinction between income and cash flow, and valuation. You will learn how financial data is used to make business decisions and to evaluate an organisation’s performance.

Course Objectives 

A primary objective of this course is to make the content applicable to your own business or managerial circumstances. You are taught to relate the numbers of finance and accounting to business reality using real case studies and applications.

Learning Outcomes 

Through attending this course, you will be able to:

  • Contribute in business decision making; including investing and financing
  • Read and analyse financial reports and statements
  • Apply key ratios which will enable readers of financial statements to make decisions with regard to a firm’s viability
  • Gain insights from industry speakers who will discuss their roles in finance and accounting
