It is now mandatory for all AMSA certificate holders to hold a Security Awareness Endorsement.
To meet industry demand for this endorsement, AMC have developed Security Awareness Training (SAT) as an online course.
The course is approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), and is open for enrolment.
Upon successful completion of the online course, an AMSA approved certificate will be issued, which will allow you to obtain an endorsement from AMSA.
The course consists of:
- Three (3) learning resource sections (section 1, 2 and 3)
- Three (3) progress checks (progress check 1, 2 and 3)
- One (1) final assessment
In order to progress through sections 1 and 2, candidates are required to complete the progress check and obtain a minimum score of 60%.
Candidates will be advised of their results immediately after the progress check is submitted, once the pass mark has been achieved, the next section will be made available.
Results will be made available upon completion and submission of the final assessment. Failure to achieve the required pass marks in the progress checks (1, 2 and 3) and/or the final assessment will result in a grade of Not Yet Competent.
The Security Awareness Training (SAT) is recognised by AMSA as meeting the requirements of Table A-VI/6-1 of STCW 78, as amended.
The course will be delivered entirely online.
